Dear Life Member, it has been a while since we communicated with you and we intend to make this update a regular occurrence in future.
We have two training grounds: Scovell Reserve, Maidstone (Monday/Wednesday) and Saltwater Reserve, Point Cook (Tuesday/Thursday).
We have academies set up at Werribee (Mackillop College), Caroline Springs Town Centre, Truganina (Westbourne Grammar) and Scovell Reserve, all on Mondays straight after school. So as you can see we have a lot of coaches and resources to supply.
We now have a very up to date website www.wrflumpires.com.au which has our history, coaching aids, appointments, social functions, contacts, profiles and various other information which is of benefit to all. We would welcome your comments and input on this. In future a lot of updates to keep life members informed will appear on the website.
We are currently planning the move to new facilities at Hanmer Reserve, Seddon. Maribyrnong City Council has the final plans for construction, which will be out to tender in the next few months. Work is expected to commence next winter, with completion scheduled for the end of 2016 and we will move there in 2017. This is a year later than first expected; they have provided extra facilities which has put the project back a year but ensured our stay at Scovell has been extended. You are welcome to come down to Scovell one Wednesday to see the plans and our progress.
We did intend to have a reunion in August this year to farewell Scovell but this has now been gazetted for April 2016.
If you have any queries please contact me, otherwise we suggest that our website will keep you up to date with our progress.
Regards,
