The 2015 WRFL Umpires Golf Day has been run and won.
At a blustery Sunshine Golf Club, eight of the umpires' best battled it out for 18 holes in a gruelling display that won't have the PGA Tour calling.
Vaughan Garner emerged as the winner under the Callaway handicap system, by one stroke over Paul Battaglia and Kevin Lewis and two over the rest of the field. Garner received the Henry McFerran Trophy and assorted golf gear for his troubles, while Battaglia was awarded a participation ball for a comfortable win off the stick.
Richard Watt narrowly took home the longest drive after trickling past Battaglia's effort and watching Adrian O'Donnell's shot roll millimetres off the fairway. Lewis triumphed in the nearest the pin competition by default when no one else managed to land on the green.
Many thanks to Terry O'Donnell for organising the day.
